  • Experience: Laya Dogmetchi’s practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation – general liability defense, mass tort defense, public entity defense, common carrier defense and employment –related litigation. Laya handles insurance defense litigation involving premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, professional liability, transportation, property and casualty and public entity tort cases. Laya has considerable experience defending employers and their directors, officers and representatives in employment-related lawsuits including work-place sexual harassment, wrongful termination, defamation, business torts, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Background:  Prior to joining Ulich Ganion Balmuth Fisher LLP, Laya was a partner at Cummins & White, LLP. She has volunteered at the South Royalton Legal Clinic and was the recipient of the Jonathan B. Chase Scholarship. Her LL.M. from the University Of Washington School Of Law focused on Marine Law and Affairs.
  • Community & Interests: Laya provides pro bono services for small businesses throughout Southern California. An avid reader, she actively participates in youth sports, including coaching her children’s sports teams and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Laya has served as Moderator and now sits on the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization “Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education” where she helps cancer patients, families and caregivers access information regarding their disease and treatment. She also serves as a Board Member to the CDM Girls Volleyball Foundation and AYSO Region 57. Laya also is fluent in Farsi (Persian).
